How to find your Purpose in life

Finding a purpose in life it is not always an easy task for lot of people or should I say that lot of people struggle to find their life's purpose? and as a matter of fact many people don't even know what their lives purposes are!

Many people don't know whether there is a purpose for their lives or not because we live in the society where we have been misfed with the information, we have been lied to or we have been forced to do other things, like our parents who forced us to go to school to become doctors, teachers, engineers and others professions regardless of whether we love those jobs or not!

So today I want to share with you the podcast that will dramatically help you find your purpose in life. In this podcast Steve Pavlina (who recorded this podcast) discuses the topic of purpose. What you will learn is; Do we have a built in purpose for our lives? Is it something we find? Is it something we discover? Is it something that have been preprogrammed into us? Is there a reason why we exist and part of our goal in life is to find it?

Or is life inherently without a purpose and we have an option to give it one by choice? I think that the answers to these questions may be unknowable to a certain degree. So my friend Steve is going to give you a different way of approaching this topic in this podcast I'm sharing, instead of having to deal with the question of does life have a built in purpose or not. He says that the best way is to look at it from an experiential stand point!

So Steve says that he doesn't think that the answers to these questions are as important as the answers to some different questions and the other way of approaching this topic is looking at it from stand point instead of "do we have a purpose or don't we." What is it like to live with a purpose vs what is it like to live without a purpose? So he says that his approach was to try both and see which one produces the best results.

Is one alternative more empowering than the other? From much of his life he believed that we didn't have a purpose. We could choose what we wanted to do, we could choose to have a purpose, that's what he thought because he didn't feel he had one at the time. He thought you just go through life just like any one else, make a living, earn some money, have some kids, have a family, retire and so on. Sort of like following the socially conditioned path for existence which doesn't have a much of a purpose at all(there is really not much of a meaning there). But another alternative, something he got into years later was to think "well what if I decided to have a purpose for my life?". He didn't know if it was something he was necessarily discovering that had been pre-ordained for him or if it was something he was choosing! but he came with a little process for going about it such that whatever purpose he end up finding would actually make a sense .

After Steve have found his purpose(this is his personal experience/true story) now without a doubt he says that living with a purpose it's far far much better. It took his life to a whole new different level that he could never achieve without having a very clear purpose. So Steve has recorded this podcast I'm sharing, to help people like you and me find their purposes in life, grow consciously and awaken people through awareness like he did.

So first of all he will give you two steps in finding your purpose and he is also going to talk to you about why you might want to do this with the benefits (specific benefits) of having a purpose and surrounding your life around it will be. Two steps I'm talking about is; 1st: you will need to find your general purpose and 2nd: you will need to find your specific purpose and don't worry hey, as he will explain what those are and walk you through them!

He once posted a similar exercise like this one you are reading, about "how to find your life's purpose in 20 minutes? and that was just an estimate time". He found that some people who go through this exercise get their purpose in less than 10 minutes but one person emailed him, and told him that it took him 20 days so there's a quite of wide range of how long this exercise will take.

Don't take 20 minutes too literally though for other people it's that much. It's about the matter of few minutes for other people, it takes much longer for others but that depends on your openness to the process, how close you are to being aligned with your purpose already or how far away from your current manner of living your purpose is but also how much resistance you have to the idea of finding your purpose.

The more resistance you are, the longer it takes. The more you are open to it and embracing of it, and the more you want to find the purpose, the faster it turns to happen. The general purpose is just a simple statement often just one line. The short version of general purpose of Steve for example (his purpose is to grow and help others grow) by grow he mean as in consciousness and awareness. It's very simple to say that, so Steve's purpose is essentially to help people become more conscious and aware.

So specific purpose is how you are going to live your general purpose, how you are going to fulfill your general purpose in a physical world. Your general purpose may not change much by the way but your specific purpose has a lot more flexibility. It brings your general purpose down to earth as to speak. So for example, Steve's specific purpose is to share awareness raising ideas with as many people as he can. That's why I'm also getting out the message to you.
